Citrine Wagtail in Dumfries & Galloway; 4th June 2008
After successfully seeing my first Lesser Grey Shrike the previous evening I could not believe I was on my way to see yet another new species the following day!
A male Citrine Wagtail had been found at Caerlaverock in Dumfries & Galloway and soon Craig, Derek and myself were on our way to see it. We arrived and Caerlaverock and I quickly made my way to the Folly Pond hide. Within a very short time I was enjoying superb views of a stunning male Citrine Wagtail.
This bird was fantastic to watch as it fed along the shoreline of the pond. I felt very lucky to have finally caught up with this species!
